In simple words taxonomy is the categorization of your contents (articles, pages etc.) so as your users can browse all the contents of his interest with the help of a click to a specific categories. Recently, I have found that my Google webmaster tools showing me HTML suggestions for duplicate title tags for my Wordpress blog. As far as I am concerned I never created any duplicate content.
